DE SOTO (KMOV.com) – A woman is behind bars for allegedly stealing someone's identity and making a large purchase at a car dealership.

A security camera captured footage of the suspected woman, Kimberly Blechle, 29, of Middleton, Missouri, and man at the Auto Plaza Group in De Soto, Missouri.

"They knew exactly what they were doing and they were good doing it," said Brian McClain, the car dealership owner.

McClain says the couple were cool customers when they came into his De Soto showroom on January 23. McClain says the couple haggled over the price of a Jeep and the cost of warranty.

But soon after they drove off, authorities say a St. Louis man who's identity had been stolen to buy a $25,000 Jeep was alerted by a credit monitoring service and called police.

The employees at the car dealership put the surveillance video of the alleged identity thieves on Facebook. The number of views of the post climbed to 17,000.

"A few people who knew them through Facebook who saw them on Channel 4 News and of course De Soto police already narrowed it down," said McClain.

De Soto police say they tracked the Jeep to an address in Chesterfield and found the woman in Washington County.

The arrest of the woman took place in Potosi. Police say the man she was with is still on the run.

Blechle was charged with one count of identity theft, a Class B felony. Her bail is set at $15,000.

Sergeant Michael McMunn, De Soto Police Department said, "People need to be aware of the activity on their credit. If they do something out of the ordinary, they need to report it as quickly as possible so we can get results."
