LINCOLN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is looking for Edward Combs Jr., a convicted sex offender who appears to be on the run.

Officers went to Combs' residence in the 300 block of Marble Street in Troy, Mo., on Jan. 26 for a home compliance check and police say he wasn't at the location. Police believe he falsely represented the residence as his living location.

In 2004, Combs was charged in Oklahoma for allegedly First Degree Rape, Forcible Oral Sodomy and First Degree Rape through the use of instrumentation of a 9-year-old girl. Oklahoma prosecutors accepted a plead and amended the charges to Assault with Intent to Commit a Felony.

Because of the nature of his crime, Combs is required to register in Missouri. His whereabouts are currently unknown. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office at 636-528-8546 ext. 3240 or 636-528-6100.
