ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The newest Budweiser Clydesdale was born early Tuesday morning at Warm Springs Ranch. Mac, the first foal of 2016, was born at 300-acre ranch in central Missouri at 1:20 a.m.

According to the company, Mac's name was a nod to the legacy of the Budweiser Clydesdales, which the company described as "the most macro of all icons."

The Budweiser Clydesdales started in 1933, when August Busch Jr. and Adolphus Busch presented them to their father as a gift celebrating the repeal of Prohibition.

For more than 80 years, the horses have served as a symbol of the company. Today, Anheuser-Busch has herd of more than 160 Clydesdales. Mac will remain at Warm Springs Ranch in Boonville while he grows and goes through training.
