Posted: Updated:
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The St. Louis Public Schools announced it will be putting a special levy on the April ballot.

The district’s special administrative board voted in favor of a 75 cent levy increase that would raise revenue for early childhood education, improved safety and competitive salaries for staff. Voters must approve the measure for it to go into effect.

If voters support the proposal, it will be the first tax increase in the district in 25 years.
