DE SOTO, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze at a bowling alley in De Soto Wednesday night.

The fire broke out around 9:45 p.m. at Ball Creek Bowl in the 12700 block of Route 21. At least 90 personnel were called to assist in battling the blaze.

No injuries were reported.  The owner told News 4 the sprinkler system was turned off because a pipe recently froze. Repair work was scheduled to be done on the sprinkler system Friday. Firefighters also said there were no working smoke detectors.

There were three apartment units and a tax preparation business above a bar located next to the bowling alley. People were inside all four units, but they got out safely thanks to a police officer that knocked on doors around 9:45 p.m. Residents say they saw flames at the other end of the building during the evacuation.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
