ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A break-in suspect was caught by firefighters after the alarm at St. Mary’s High School sounded Wednesday.

The suspect, described as being a man from St. Charles, broke into the school, located in the 4700 block of South Grand, and triggered the alarm around 11 a.m. When firefighters arrived at the school, they saw the man running on foot and they began to chase him while dressed in their full gear, eventually capturing him.

The suspect told authorities he was at the school helping the custodian, police said.

No other information about the incident has been released.
