ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The Stray Rescue of St. Louis is offering a $1,000 reward after a dog was found tossed next to a dumpster in an alley Saturday.

The terrier, named ‘Nitro’ by the organization, was found by a concerned citizen who was taking out her trash in an alley in the 3400 block of Montana.

When he was found, Nitro had hyperthermia and was suffering from severe starvation, but has beaten the odds and is recovering at the Stray Rescue shelter.

“What blows me away is this is the second dog, first being Tasha, who has suffered the exact same abuse. I feel like I’m having déjà vu,” said Randy Grim with Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Anyone with information that could lead to the person(s) responsible should call 314-771-6121.
