Veteran shot, paralyzed after Cardinals game returns home

ST. LOUIS ( – Army Veteran Chris Sanna returned home Monday for the first time since he was shot and paralyzed after a Cardinals game in downtown St. Louis.

Sanna was celebrating his mother’s 60th birthday at the Cardinals game on September 25 when he was shot during an armed robbery while walking back to their car, which was parked at the Old Cathedral.

While Sanna was undergoing treatment, crews with the Gary Sinise Foundation, The Home Depot Foundation, Benjamin Moore, Shubert Design Furniture, GE, National Wood Flooring Association, National Tile Contractors Association and dozens of donors, vendors and volunteers worked to remodel his home.  The Gary Sinise Foundation is known for remodeling and building smart homes for veterans and first responders.

Kilwa Jones, 31, has been charged with two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of armed criminal action and two counts of first-degree robbery in connection with Sanna's shooting.
