Board of Aldermen will work to find new uses, tenants for Edward Jones Dome

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – St. Louis Board of Aldermen President Lewis Reed said the City’s Board of Aldermen will work to find new uses and tenants for the Edward Jones Dome.

“Right in the middle of the United States we have a 1.7 million square foot multi-purpose convention center and sports complex with 67,000 seats,” Reed said in a press release. “St. Louis has a unique opportunity here to draw in something our community can be proud of, something that will bring new jobs for residents and alleviate the burden the Rams leaving has placed on city coffers.”

Reed hopes a plan can be developed to “fully utilize the dome year round,” according to the press release.

Reed is working to setup meetings with the Regional Convention and Visitors Commission, and the Budget Director within the next few weeks to discuss the dome’s future uses and the financial impact of the Rams leaving St. Louis.
