ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Officers are continuing to investigate a shooting that occurred Monday night in south St. Louis leaving two men injured.  

Officers said they responded to a call about a shooting in the 4100 block of Compton Avenue, where they found the suspect lying in the street suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.  While on the scene, officers were called to the 4100 block of Michigan Avenue for another shooting victim.

The 25-year-old victim stated he was sitting in his vehicle on S. Compton, when the suspect approached him and fired multiple shots, striking him in the leg.  The victim returned fire, striking the suspect.  The victim fled to the Michigan location and contacted the police.  

Both men were transported to the hospital.

The suspect was listed in critical, but stable condition.  The victim was listed in stable condition.
