St. Louis County school asking for help rebuilding following flood

Posted: Updated:

St. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo (KMOV.com) -- A school in southwest St. Louis County is trying to dry out following the historic flooding and needs help doing it.

Apprende School teaches students pre-K through 12th grade, from special needs to advanced classes.

But there's a lot of damage to the building, textbooks and other school materials from the flood. Now the school is in jeopardy of having to close its doors if they don't get help soon.

“It's going to take several weeks if we have to go from this location,” said Apprende School administrator Gerry Munger, “If we can relocate, we can get up and running in a couple weeks."

There is a GoFundMe account set up for the school and they hope to raise $300,000 to rebuild.

With that money, the school would be able to move to another location to continue teaching its students.
