JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for an incident of involuntary manslaughter in November 2014.

Mary Fietek was convicted with killing Walter Summers, 65, of Dittmer, in a crash on Nov. 4, 2014. Fietek was driving a Chevrolet Impala and was going to fast for the road conditions. According to police, Fietek was under the influence of alcohol and failed to make a turn, crossed the center line and hit Summers' Ford Ranger.

Summers was taken to St. Anthony's Medical Center, where he later died.

Court documents show that Fietek, also hurt in the accident, was taken to the hospital where she was found to have a .18 blood-alcohol content. The legal limit in Missouri is .08.

Fietek pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter and was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Dec. 1, as part of a plea bargain. Court records state that she must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence.
