LEAP Alert issued for missing DeKalb County man

DeKalb County, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Authorities are asking for help locating an elderly DeKalb County, Illinois man who suffers from dementia who was headed to Washington.

After leaving his home in Shabbona, Illinois on January 4, Marvin Davis, 82, was reportedly stopped by police for multiple traffic violations before checking in at the Hilton Garden in Sioux City that evening.

After checking out of the hotel at 5:30 a.m. on January 5, Davis called his grandson and told him he was going to Washington to reunite with his girlfriend. Davis never arrived at his final location, authorities said.

Authorities issued a LEAP Alert for the missing man Thursday.  

Davis is described as a 5-foot-10, 200 pound Caucasian man with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen driving a red 2010 Ford Ranger four-door pickup truck with the Illinois license plate 133 0216 B.
