TROY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A Troy, Missouri man is accused of stealing and selling various items.

Michael Sanders was arrested following an investigation that started in August. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the 22-year-old stole a boat that belonged to a family member, then sold the boat using Craigslist.

The victim told investigators the lock securing the boat in the storage unit was sawed off and the boat was gone.

The boat was tracked down after it was registered to a man in Fenton who claimed he bought it from Sanders through Craigslist.

On January 6, 2016, a St. Charles County resident called police to notify them that he saw the suspect on television and wanted to report he may have purchased a stolen trailer from him in February of 2015. According to authorities, the trailer’s VIN number revealed it belonged to the same person the boat was stolen from.

Investigators also believe Sanders may have victimized multiple people throughout Lincoln County by stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of goods.  Anyone who believes they may have been a victim is asked to call 636-582-8546 ext. 3242.

Sanders is being held on $25,000 and $10,000 cash-only bond.
