EAST ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) - -

An East St. Louis man is facing a first-degree murder charge after a woman’s body was found Saturday night.

Thomas Brown, 54, is accused of killing Lenear McKissick, 36, of the 2900 block of Waverly Ave. in East St. Louis. According to police, McKissick died of blunt force trauma to her head.

 McKissick was pronounced dead at 11:06 p.m. by St. Clair County Coroner Curt Schildknecht.

According to police, McKissick’s son contacted the police for a well-being check after not hearing from her for a few days. Her son said that the music in her apartment was loud and there was no answer.

Brown’s bail was set at $5 million.
