BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Belleville Police are investigating two overnight robberies that took place on January 3. 

Police responded to Casey's General Store at 1706 Mascoutah Avenue at 9:48 p.m. to reports of an armed robbery. The suspect allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded money from the employees at the store. The suspect then fled the business toward Garden Boulevard.

Shortly later, police responded to Midwest Petroleum at 1291 Frank Scott Parkway around 9:56 p.m. in reference to an armed robbery. The suspect allegedly displayed a handgun and demanded cash and cigarettes. The clerk complied with the suspect. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.

No injuries occurred in either incident.
