After a morning inspection of Eureka High School, officials are confident students can return to class by Tuesday.

According Rockwood Superintendent Eric Knost, repair crews and contractors are on site and working to ready the campus for faculty, students and staff. This includes professionally cleaning, sanitizing and safety inspecting any area that will be accessed by students or personnel.

The athletic building was hardest it, and took on enough water to damage the flooring and equipment inside. Officials are working on how to accommodate classes that use the gym areas while they are under repair.

All damage to the campus is covered by the district’s insurance policy.

Officials have asked that any volunteers focus on the residents and businesses in Eureka, as the remaining work on campus will be handled by contracted professionals.
