WILDWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A father in Wildwood was rescued from a tree after authorities say the vehicle he was driving was overcome by floodwater, resulting in him and his son needing rescue.

Monarch Fire Department officials say they were called to an area near Ossenfort Road and Wild Horse Creek Road after 9:00 Saturday night on a report of two people needing rescue. They said one person was missing and one was in a tree.

Officials say the man was able to save his son from the water and then climb a tree until help arrived. The man was rescued around 11:30 Saturday night. The boy was also safe, though those circumstances were not immediately known.
