ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – It’s been extremely difficult the last few days for a North County mother trying to figure out why her 3-year-old son was shot and killed.

Xavier “Zae” Robinson was killed in the family’s home on December 21 and police say a 15-year-old pulled the trigger.

“Why? Would you point a gun at a three year old? Why,” questioned Semaj Porter, mother to Xavier “Zae” Robinson.

Porter says Xavier’s grandmother, dad, and siblings were home, but not in the room where he was shot. The teenager ran after shooting the boy and later turned himself in to police.

Porter knew the teenager as her oldest son’s best friend, someone who would come over all the time. She says the teen spent the night. She wants to know where the gun came from and would like to see tough consequences for his actions.

“I pray they charge him as an adult. Because he should pay for what he did to my baby. He should not be able to just go on and live his life,” said Porter.

“Why would you point a gun at a three year old and pull the trigger? Why would you do that to my baby,” said Porter.

“All we have left now of Xavier are pictures and memories and that’s it. My baby was three. He never lost his first tooth, never had his first day of school. He missed out on all of that. I am lost without my baby. I don’t know what to do,” said Porter.

To add to the tragedy, Porter says someone set up a fake GoFundMe account for her son. She let police know and it was immediately taken down.

If you would like to help the family, please send your donations to Ronald L. Jones Funeral Chapel at 2161 East Fair Avenue in St. Louis.

“This is not supposed to be my life,” Porter said. “My baby was supposed to be decorating the tree that day and I’m still supposed to be hiding Christmas presents.”

Funeral arrangements are set for December 30 at Ronald L. Jones Funeral Chapel.
