ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Missouri state representative is proposing a sales tax holiday for gun purchases.
Missourinet reports Rep. Jered Taylor’s proposal would mean state sales tax would not be charged on any new firearms purchased the Saturday after the Fourth of July. The proposal would not apply to ammunition sales or gun accessories.
Taylor said he chose the date because it “highlights the freedoms that we have and the freedoms that we’ve been given.”
This is Taylor’s first time proposing the bill.
