Bud Light redesigning logo, changing packaging for 2016

Bud Light is making its first visual branding change in eight years, announcing Thursday the beer will sport a new logo and new packaging in 2016.

The redesigned can is entirely shades of blue except for the brand name, which is in white. The new logo uses the AB crest, which hasn’t been on the Bud Light product packaging since 2001.

In a release on the Anheuser-Busch website, the vice president of marketing, Alexander Lambrecht, said the change is part of a larger brand evolution for the beer planned in the coming year.

Bud Light is the country’s best-selling beer. On the AB website the company estimates 20,000 Bud Lights are sold every minute.
