First, file an identity theft report with your local police department.

You'll need the report when you contact your bank and credit card companies.

Next--you should file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.  

Finally--contact one of the three major credit bureaus to put a *fraud alert* on your account. Click here and here for links to those bureaus.
