KIRKWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Residents of Kirkwood have mixed views on temporary stop signs that have been installed on South Geyer Road.

The signs, which were installed in December, were put in to cut down on crashes in the area. Temporary stop signs were installed on the stretch of South Geyer Road that runs from Big Bend Boulevard south to Watson Road and to the entrances of Interstate 44 and Interstate 270.

Some residents welcomed the signs and say it has caused drivers to slow down while others feel they are unnecessarily backing up traffic

City officials will decide Thursday whether to make the signs will be made permanent.
