(KMOV.com) – A man who was shot twice by police officers in Gasconade County allegedly tried to run over them Thursday.

Eric Campbell, 37, was shot twice by deputies near the small town of Rosebud. Deputies and narcotics officers went to his home around 10:00 p.m. to serve a warrant, police said. Campbell tried to get away in his car, but it became stuck in a hole. It became unstuck as officers approached, police said.

“He was backing up towards my deputy, at that point, my deputy and one of the drug enforcement agents fired their weapons and the suspect hit twice,” said Gasconade County sheriff Randy Esphort.

Police said Campbell suffered non-life threatening injuries. Campbell has a history of arrests and violence towards law enforcement, police said.

Two other people were in the car with him, but they were not hurt. Charges may be filed soon.
