NORTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

A North County woman said she is terrified to leave home after she was carjacked at gunpoint Saturday night.

Beauty Fondren told News 4 she had just parked her car near her home on Blossomwood Drive and started to walk up the driveway when the suspect pulled a gun, demanding her car keys and phone.

“He was patting on me. I said ‘my phone is in my purse.’ Then he said ‘Is that your Dodge Dart there?’ I said ‘yes.’ Then he got in the car and took off,” Fondren said.

Fondren said she’s lucky she wasn’t injured, but she said she is terrified and shaken. She also said she is considering buying a gun for protection.

“Half of the time at night, I can’t sleep. I wake up thinking about it and stuff,” Fondren said.

If you have any information on the crime, call police.
