Search underway for suspect who robbed Swansea gas station

The suspect, who displayed a silver pistol, was described as a black male approximately 5’07-5’09 with skinny build wearing a dark beanie, red bandana over his face, black hooded sweatshirt with horizontal teal and white stripes, dark grey sweatpants. Authorities in Illinois are searching for a suspect they said robbed a gas station in Swansea early Sunday morning. 

According to police, the suspect entered the Huck's station in the 4500 block of Illinois Route 159 and brandished a silver pistol. The suspect is described as skinny black male between 5'7" and 5'9" wearing a dark beanie and a red bandana. Police said the suspect fled on foot. 

Police from Swansea, Fairview Heights and the Illinois State Police department all responded to the robbery.
