Thieves steal car full of Christmas gifts from mother

Posted: Updated:

BEVO MILL, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The day before Thanksgiving, Tonja Ross was unloading her car full of groceries, presents, and diapers for her two-year-old daughter with Down Syndrome.

She says three men suddenly appeared on the sidewalk, startling her. She ran inside and left the keys in her car. Peering outside a window in her home, she witnessed as the thieves drove off with her Kia Sportage with everything she had just purchased inside.

All the items that were stolen took Ross a year to save up for. Not only that, but the car has been fastened with special equipment needed for her daughter.

Fiona, her daughter, has holoprosencephaly, a rare brain abnormality. Tonja uses the car five days a week to go back and forth from a children’s rehab hospital for Fiona’s rehabilitation.
