ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) – A hit-and-run occurred in the early morning on Nov. 24 causing damage to two St. Charles homes.

Christa Schrader, resident of the home, says she woke up to a loud crash.

“It almost felt like a mini little earthquake went off for a second,” said Schrader. She looked out the window and saw a tan Chevy truck driving away.

According to Schrader, siding was taken off the house, a metal pole was knocked down and the foundation of the house is now cracked.

Concrete pillars were protecting the surrounding homes, but in 2013, the pillars were removed, says Schrader.

Schrader says the poles were originally installed because the house had already been hit twice by out of control cars. However, when a roundabout was built in, the poles were removed.

“If we would still have the poles up like we used to, he would have never even gotten close to our houses,” says Schrader.

Schrader is hoping the driver of the Chevy truck will come forward to police.
