ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A homicide investigation is underway after a late-night shooting in the Fairground neighborhood Sunday.

According to police, a man and woman were shot in the 3200 block of Barrett, near North Grand Boulevard, following an altercation shortly after 10:30 p.m.

When police arrived to the scene, a 47-year-old woman was found lying outside of the residence with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital and listed in critical, but stable condition.

When police entered the residence, the found 39-year-old Glenn Strong, of the 2800 block of Wheaton, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, police said they determined the 29-year-old suspect, later identified as Brandon McFadden, was involved in a confrontation with the victims when he produced a firearm and fired the shots.

McFadden was taken into custody at the shooting scene. He was later charged with murder first, assault first, assault third and two counts of armed criminal action.

The investigation is ongoing.
