Michael Garvin named city of St. Louis' new interim law department lead

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The city of St. Louis has named Michael Garvin to lead the city’s law department on an interim basis, according to an announcement by Mayor Francis Slay.

Garvin graduated from the University of Missouri in 1982, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He graduate from Washington University School of Law in 1989 and worked in the St. Louis City Counselor’s Office from 1992 to 1997.

He then left to form the firm Carnahan & Garvin.

Nancy Kistler, Deputy City Counselor will continue to serve the city in her position.

The city’s Communication Director, Maggie Crane has confirmed to News 4 that Winston Calvert resigned Tuesday night.
