ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – The flag that hangs outside St. Louis City Hall was missing for several weeks because the rope it was hanging on was cut.
A man cut the flag down so he could make a belt out of the rope that was holding up the flag, officials say. The flag was found on the ground next to the poll.
Officials mention that witnesses saw the entire instance happen, but the city does not plan on fining the man.
The flag was back up at City Hall in downtown St. Louis November 18.
