ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A mother left her young daughter alone inside a car parked at the Lumiere Casino garage Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Authorities said a security guard discovered the 2-year-old girl in the casino's garage around 3:30 p.m.  Police said the child’s mother, a 36-year-old woman, was inside the casino for an hour and a half before she returned to the car at 4:30 p.m.

The woman was later arrested and the child was eventually reunited with other family members.

A similar incident happened on November 1 when 28-year-old Timeka Coleman-Jones left her 7-month-old daughter in a car while she gambled at the Argosy Casino in Alton. Coleman-Jones was later charged with misdemeanor child abandonment.

Charges have not yet been filed against the mother in this latest case.

However, the child was released into the custody of a grandparent, police said.
