Ferguson Police to hold community discussion on 'Neighborhood Policing'

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Ferguson Police Department wants to engage in discussion with the public on how they can make their city safer.  The department sent out invitations to their community members to meet with them Nov. 7 to discuss a new program.   

Police want to implement a program called Neighborhood Policing. Under the program, an officer would be assigned to a specific area of the community and build relationships with residents and business owners.

The department is planning several community meetings, the first of which taking place Saturday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Greater Grace Church off of Pershall Road in Ferguson.

Organizers said local leaders, business owners, and other key stakeholders will be attending the meeting.
