FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the woman who allegedly fired a gunshot at her boyfriend before setting a blanket on fire and stabbing him Wednesday night.

Around 8:20 p.m., the 44-year-old man told police his girlfriend met him with a shotgun when he returned home from work. The girlfriend fired a gunshot, which struck the man’s vehicle.

The man took the weapon from the woman and locked it in his vehicle, at which time he noticed something was on fire inside of the home.

The man entered the home to find his girlfriend had set a blanket on fire, authorities said.

A struggle began between the two and the man sustained cuts on his hand and a stab wound above his kidney. He was taken to the hospital, treated and released following the incident.

The 39-year-old suspect left the home, located in the 600 block of Lori, before police arrived. Authorities said they have used St. Louis County’s air unit and Eureka Police Department’s K-9 Unit, but have not been able to find her.
