ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Two people were killed and two others were injured following two separate double shootings in South City Tuesday night.
Police said Derek Phillips and Christopher Bronson, both 29-years-old, were fatally shot while in the 2600 block of California around 11:49 p.m. When officers responded to the location they located both victims inside the residence.
Police have identified one of the men who were fatally shot as Derek Phillips.
A few hours later, at 3:20 a.m., a man and woman were found with gunshot wounds in the 3400 block of Pennsylvania.
The woman was shot in the back and the man sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and leg. Both victims were taken to the hospital. The woman was listed in critical, stable condition and the man was listed in stable condition.
The circumstances surrounding the shootings have not been released, nor have the identities of the deceased.
The Fox Park neighborhood borders Jefferson Avenue and I-44 to the north. The last homicide in the neighborhood was in 2014 and there were two in 2013.
"It doesn't happen in this neighborhood, but it is spilling over to everywhere and when it happens we need to take care of it," said Dorothy Borreson, a 30-year Fox Park resident.
There is a police substation in the neighborhood, which many attribute to the low crime rate, but the recent shootings have many on edge.
Authorities have not released any information regarding suspects in either case. Both investigations are ongoing.
