Woman stabs alleged attacker during abduction attempt

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A woman stabbed her alleged attacker after he attempted to force her inside a truck in North City early Tuesday morning.

The 21-year-old woman was walking on St. Louis Avenue around 3 a.m. when an unknown man attempted to forced her inside a truck. An altercation began between the two and the woman stabbed the suspect.

The woman, who was also stabbed, was able to escape from the truck and run to the 4200 block of East San Francisco. She was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition following the incident.

Less than two hours later, Eugene McMurray, 40, showed up to a family member’s home in the 2000 block of North Market with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

Authorities connected the two cases and issued charges against McMurray for attempted rape, kidnapping, assault and armed criminal action. A $400,000 cash-only bond was set for McMurray.

The investigation is ongoing.
