Police investigating two north St. Louis shootings

Police are investigating two shootings in north St. Louis that occurred Friday afternoon.

The first shooting happened just before 3:00 p.m. in the 3600 block of Cook. A car with at least two people inside was driving west on Cook when a female passenger shot the male driver in the head, police said.

The man then lost control of the car and drove off the road into a driveway. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Police later identified him as 35-year-old Corey Stovall, of the 1300 block of Switzer. 

The woman fled the scene. She is described as a 30-year-old black female wearing a red oversized coat, brown-hooded jacket, and pink leggings.

Another shooting occurred about one hour later near Kingshighway and Delmar, where police found a man had been shot. Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting.
