ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Two eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 near Hampton has reopened after a tractor trailer overturned just before 2:00 Monday morning.

The overturned truck caused diesel fuel to leak onto the highway.

All lanes of the roadway were closed until around 7 a.m. Just before 5 a.m., the exit to Hampton was opened to traffic.

An official with the Missouri Department of Transportation said they hoped to have the roadway reopened by the "morning rush."

To detour around the closures, drivers should exit at Arsenal, get onto McCausland and follow the road to Interstate 64 or Manchester.
