Francis-Howell School Board to add tax increase issue to April ballot

Posted: Updated:

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The Francis-Howell School District will once again ask St. Charles County residents for more money.

Thursday night, the school board voted to put the issue on the April ballot. Six weeks ago, voters in the county rejected the 90-cent tax hike that would have raised $20 million annually.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the board held off on deciding how much money they will ask for in April.

The board also voted against imposing any new budget cuts for the remainder of the school year.

Earlier in the year, the district threatened to make drastic cuts if the property tax increase did not pass.
