O'FALLON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Police said a suspicious man was caught looking into the windows of two homes in O'Fallon, Missouri.

Authorities said they received two reports about the peeping tom from people living in the Forest Park Subdivision. Both cases happened on a Sunday between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.

Officer Diana Damake said similar incidents have happened in the past.

"There were two occasions last year of a similar incident," said Damake. "This could have been going on for quite a while...or it could be a different circumstance."

Authorities said some peeping toms look to break into homes, others commit sex crimes. It is unclear what the culprit in this particular case is seeking to do.

The department urges residents to call police if they witness anything suspicious in their neighborhood.
