20-year-old man arrested in connection to June homicide

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police in Ferguson arrested 20-year-old Demond Steward in connection to a homicide that occurred in June on the 5100 block of Palm.

Officers had responded to the location after receiving calls for a shooting. When police arrived they found the victim, 20-year-old Jehoward Primus Jr. lying on the ground. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen. 

Primus Jr. was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. At the time of the shooting witnesses observed a man and woman fleeing the scene in a two-door silver vehicle.

According to police, Steward was taken into custody by the Ferguson Police Department Monday in connection to the homicide.
