IMPERIAL, Mo. (KMOV.com) - A suspect wearing a white mask shot a man in the abdomen Tuesday night.

The 36-year-old male victim told authorities he was walking near Miller East Road and Westward Trails Drive when a man wearing a white mask approached him. The man pointed a weapon at the victim and demanded the victim's wallet. The victim said the suspect then got distracted by a vehicle driving by, and he tried to run away. The victim said he felt pain in his right abdomen as he was running away, but continued towards his mother's home in Westward Trails. 

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies said the victim is currently being treated at an area hospital for non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Deputies said they believe the incident is isolated and the investigation is ongoing.
