MT. VERNON, Ill. (KMOV.com) - Police are asking for help identifying a man they said was caught on surveillance video committing theft at a liquor store Sunday.

Mt. Vernon police said they received a report of retail theft at Lucky Liquor's on 10th Street Sunday after 1 p.m. Investigators reported a man was seen carrying an infant's car seat with a blanket over the top of it. Authorities said the man concealed liquor in the car seat and left the store. He was seen arriving and leaving in a newer model gold Dodge Caravan with damage to the driver's side front quarter panel. 

Anyone with information is urged to call the Mt. Vernon Police at 242-0215, 242-2131 or the Jefferson County Crime Stoppers at 242-8477(TIPS). Any information that leads to the arrest may make the caller eligible for a cash reward.
