Man allegedly breaks into Eureka home, robs family at gunpoint

Eureka police are searching for a man who allegedly broke into a home Monday morning and robbed the family inside at gunpoint.

Authorities said the an armed suspect forced his way into a house in the 16000 block of Enderbush Lane at around 6:20 a.m. During the break-in, the man allegedly held an AR-15 assault rifle.

The victims told News 4 they left their garage door open overnight and heard a noise coming from the garage early Monday morning. When the husband opened the door, he reportedly saw a man stealing power tools. The suspect then allegedly turned his rifle on the husband and forced his way inside the home.

According to police, the suspect forced the couple and their two children, both under the age of 4, to walk around and point out where their valuables were kept. After taking their belongings, authorities said, the robber stole the victims' vehicle to make his getaway.

Police describe the suspect as a white man, wearing a grey shirt and pants, with blonde hair that is short on the sides and long on top. An accomplice was driving an early 2000's  model Chevy Impala, police said.
