FENTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) - St. Louis County police are investigating a theft case after two suspects lifted several tires from the Jim Butler Chevrolet dealership in Fenton.
Authorities said thieves stole 12 tires from three Chevy Tahoe SUVs at around 4:00 Wednesday morning.
Surveillance video caught the suspects drive onto the dealership lot in a late model Chevy Malibu.
Co-Owner Brad Sowers said the thieves may have used a compressed air tool to remove the locked wheel nuts.
“It’s a workaround they’ve discovered, so they have to know what they are doing,” Sowers said.
The theft is one of many hitting dealerships in the area in recent months, but St Louis County police said it’s too early to call it a trend.
The suspects reportedly escaped in a dark colored pickup truck.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the St. Louis County Police Department at (636) 529-8210.
