Ferguson Commission meeting for final time prior to giving recommendations to Gov. Nixon

Posted: Updated:

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Wednesday night the Ferguson Commission will hold its final meeting before recommendations are presented to Gov. Jay Nixon.

During the commission’s 17th meeting they will be working with representations from Cincinnati to better prepare their final recommendations.

The group from Cincinnati has been in a similar situation before, back in 2002 they helped create the Cincinnati Collaborative Agreement, a police-community relations improvement plan.

The Ferguson Commission hopes to create a similar plan with some call to action, including a 25 year fund to support racial equity infrastructure, assigning highway patrol to investigate critical use of force and enhancing police demonstration procedures.

Wednesday night’s meeting will take place at the Ferguson Community Center from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
