JENNINGS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – It has been four years since the Jennings School District faced the possibility of losing its accreditation.
Today the district encompasses eight schools and all remain accredited. One school in the district, Fairview Elementary, has won the Monsanto School of Excellence Award.
“The expectations are so high here at Fairview Elementary that those third graders are learning at a fourth grade level. And when you come out here into the hallway, not only are the lesson plans listed, but so in the college every teacher went to because college is the ultimate expectation for every student here,” said Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Anderson.
Last year, Fairview Elementary had over 60 percent of its students test proficient and advanced in math and reading.
For this reason the St. Louis American foundation awarded this school with the Monsanto School of Excellence Award.
