ROLLA, Mo (KMOV.com) -- The Rolla Police Department announced on Friday they are joining with law enforcement from Sept. 13 through 19 for an aggressive Child Passenger Safety Week Law Enforcement Campaign.

The purpose of the campaign is to enforce Missouri’s child safety seat laws and reduce highway fatalities and injuries to children.

Missouri law requires all children under the age of 8 to be in an appropriate child safety seat or booster seat unless they weigh 80 pounds or are at least 4-foot-9.

Chief Sean Fagan said regular child safety seat and safety belt use is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes.
