BRENTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Hazmat team was dispatched to a PetSmart in Brentwood around 12 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the Hazmat crew responded to the Brentwood Promenade after a strong chemical odor was reported. In all 20 animals were evacuated from the store. 

Seven people were taken to the hospital due to feeling light headed and ill. All involved have been released since.
