St. Louis smokehouses make 'America's Best Ribs' list

ST. LOUIS, Mo. ( - Some consider barbecue the most quintessentially American food around, which arguably makes ribs the most American barbecue dish. After getting feedback from barbecue experts, the general public, and researching 2014 rib rankings, The Daily Meal honored two St. Louis and three Kansas City smokehouses with spots on their list of the 35 Best Ribs in America for 2015. 

Bogart's Smokehouse and Pappy's Smokehouse in St. Louis rank 30th and 8th on the list respectively. Fiorella's Jack Stack, Arthur Bryant's and Joe's Kansas City Bar-B-Que hold the titles of 11th, 4th, and 2nd best rib joints in the country.

This year's winners are located in 13 different states, with Texas taking 10 of the 35 spots - four more than last year. Louie Mueller Barbecue in Taylor, Texas was named the best barbecue spot for ribs in the country.
